Hi, I would liek to request an unaffiliated cloak... Could someone gimme a clue about how to do it?!
dx486 2017-02-23 07:52:38
madc0w, just wait until a staff member helps you
madc0w 2017-02-23 07:53:25
dx486: thx! I will wait!
gry 2017-02-23 08:01:47
cc: yes
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:22:02
well, -ish
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:22:14
I received `:imthetester is not a registered nickname.` on joining
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:22:19
both most clients and servers differ a bit from the RFCs specifying IRC. Anything specific?
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:22:27
As far as I can tell that isn't a properly formatted message
madc0w 2017-02-23 08:23:33
When Im clocked and use whois with my nickname, am I still being able to see my IP?
genii 2017-02-23 08:23:48
Yes
Sagan 2017-02-23 08:24:28
yeah. you and staff will see "is connecting from "
grumble 2017-02-23 08:24:42
Nouv: RFC 2812 needs to be taken with a grain of salt
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:24:48
grumble: Why's that?
madc0w 2017-02-23 08:25:07
Sagan: Im seeing my IP on hostname O.O .. is this correct?
Sagan 2017-02-23 08:25:33
yeah, that's normal
honey 2017-02-23 08:25:38
madc0w, we do not see your ip, if that what you want to know.
grumble 2017-02-23 08:25:43
Nouv: example: we don't implement the SQUERY/SERVLIST commands even though there are services
grumble 2017-02-23 08:26:06
madc0w: please note that cloaks are not great at hiding your IP address, people can still figure it out if they want to
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:26:18
grumble: Haven't gotten to working with commands yet, just trying to implement the basic protocol
madc0w 2017-02-23 08:26:19
honey: thx, this is what I want to know
Sagan 2017-02-23 08:26:24
madc0w: format is like: [Sagan] is connecting from *@realhost 255.255.255.255
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:26:44
Nouv: out of interest: why?
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:26:59
Nouv: because if it isn't to actually learn it, chances are you are better off using existing libraries
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:27:08
Fuchs: Because I'm clearly a masochist I'm writing a regex parser :P
madc0w 2017-02-23 08:27:09
grumble: I know that! Thx anyway! this is only a small plus I would like to have
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:27:11
And yeah it is to learn it
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:27:45
Fuchs: And there's no irc libs for the language I'm working in
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:28:04
okay, which one, out of interest?
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:29:51
Fuchs: Crystal
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:30:10
huh, that's one I don't know yet
praxeology 2017-02-23 08:30:26
Hi, might someone help me get a cloaked affiliation?
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:30:29
There is a lib, but has no documentation and is pretty buggy afaik
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:30:39
praxeology: hi, sure, having a look
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:30:50
praxeology: did you mean an unaffiliated cloak, by the way?
Nouv 2017-02-23 08:31:05
Fuchs: It's a pretty cool language, learning it by building an IRC client. It's compiled, dynamic, functional, and has ruby-like syntax. Very nice to write in, and very very performant
praxeology 2017-02-23 08:32:48
Fuchs: ye
praxeology 2017-02-23 08:32:50
s
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:33:15
praxeology: okay, there you go, fresh, hand woven cloak, warm and red
praxeology 2017-02-23 08:33:33
Fuchs: cool thanks. is there a way I can check its working?
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:34:02
praxeology: /whois praxeology, see the first line
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:34:04
short: it is
strupo 2017-02-23 08:34:09
praxeology: it's working
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:34:15
you might want to set up SASL in your client so you auto-identify on connect
praxeology 2017-02-23 08:35:06
Fuchs: thanks done
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:35:12
welcome
cboltz 2017-02-23 08:35:30
Fuchs: do you have time for some openSUSE cloaks?
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:35:36
cboltz: sure
cboltz 2017-02-23 08:36:12
first one - IRC nick ntz / dpecka (should be the same person) -> cloak dpecka
cboltz 2017-02-23 08:36:37
(BTW: is applying a cloak to two nicks possible, or are these nicks linked to the same account anyway?)
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:36:58
you can check with /msg nickserv info ntz
grawity_ 2017-02-23 08:37:01
cloaks are set on the account in the first place
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:37:09
actually
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:37:18
cboltz: mind a short query?
grawity_ 2017-02-23 08:37:38
say, how does freenode use letsencrypt with the round-robin dns
cboltz 2017-02-23 08:37:47
no problem ;-)
vectr0n 2017-02-23 08:38:02
grawity_, ` openssl s_client -connect chat.freenode.com:6697 2>/dev/null
cboltz 2017-02-23 08:38:16
(should be less confusing than the mixed chat of 5 persons ;-)
papago 2017-02-23 08:38:49
how to get my IP cloaked?
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:39:01
papago: by asking in here, hang on :)
grawity_ 2017-02-23 08:39:02
that doesn't really tell me anything useful in regards to how the domain validation is performed
papago 2017-02-23 08:39:11
so, could someone cloak my IP?
vectr0n 2017-02-23 08:39:15
it shows all the SAN domains ;)
Fuchs 2017-02-23 08:39:18
papago: there you go, fresh paw-made cloak, warm, fuzzy and comfortable!
papago 2017-02-23 08:39:27
Fuchs, thank you mate :*
vectr0n 2017-02-23 08:39:53
http://pastebin.com/JnvPDp4k is how they do it ;)
grawity_ 2017-02-23 08:40:41
...yes, I've seen that, and I still don't have any idea how they validate both the server-specific and round-robin names at once
vectr0n 2017-02-23 08:40:50
easy
vectr0n 2017-02-23 08:41:20
if you google theres some tuts on doing it via web-01 but the easiest would be via dns-01
vectr0n 2017-02-23 08:42:17
then its just a matter of pushing/pulling the certs to the leafs
red-002 2017-02-23 08:46:04
maybe #wine could be redirected to #winehq?
