Morning gents. Quick question, I could have sworn I remember reading at some point that irc messages were required by RFC to end in a trailing space. I've been told however that tha's completely unfounded. Anyone know anything about that?
entuland 2017-02-24 04:45:49
SnaKKo, did you try googling something like "hide your IP on freenode"?
evil 2017-02-24 04:45:51
SnaKKo: Just ask for a cloak here and when a staff member is available, they will assist you ;)
SnaKKo 2017-02-24 04:46:14
yes i searched on google, and read all the stuff on freenode site
SnaKKo 2017-02-24 04:46:37
> Once you've read and understood the above, if you would like an unaffiliated cloak, please drop in to #freenode or speak to a member of the staff team and we'll be happy to set one up for you.
SnaKKo 2017-02-24 04:46:48
evil: thanks
entuland 2017-02-24 04:48:53
SnaKKo, though, beware of stuff like this: https://gist.github.com/maxteufel/1e2cf7ada079c271bd3c if truly concealing your IP is your ultimate purpose
entuland 2017-02-24 04:49:11
(not endorsing that document, just pointing out that the research might not be over)
emerson 2017-02-24 04:49:58
Keytap: they are required to end in \r\n

i know that cloaks don't hide the ip very well :) it's just a little obfuscation.
yunyul 2017-02-24 04:51:42
Hey, I'm interested in obtaining an unaffiliated cloak
yunyul 2017-02-24 04:51:45
for just a little obfuscation
yunyul 2017-02-24 04:51:51
:)
entuland 2017-02-24 04:52:56
SnaKKo, ok :)
F_ 2017-02-24 05:11:38
Err.....How could I cloak my IP address?
SnaKKo 2017-02-24 05:12:25
> [...] if you would like an unaffiliated cloak, please drop in to #freenode or speak to a member of the staff team and we'll be happy to set one up for you.
SnaKKo 2017-02-24 05:13:07
i made a request here in the channel but no feedback :)
rob0 2017-02-24 05:13:40
but that only hides from casual observers. To truly hide, use tor and SASL, or a VPN provider.
Pici 2017-02-24 05:14:33
Also people won't know that you love melodycode
SnaKKo 2017-02-24 05:15:12
Pici: :D
rob0 2017-02-24 05:15:27
F_, also note that an "unaffilated" cloak won't apply when using the webchat client.
F_ 2017-02-24 05:16:13
Well I think use a VPN proxy is easier to hide my IP address. :)
F_ 2017-02-24 05:17:03
I even don't know what the SASL is.
wodim 2017-02-24 05:18:19
an STD
mar77i 2017-02-24 05:19:28
yet another std doesn't make you healthy.
bordelais 2017-02-24 05:26:05
Is there a command that will show me the messages history of a channel, like the past hour for example?
nemecy 2017-02-24 05:27:34
ohai
Pici 2017-02-24 05:28:08
bordelais: nope, freenode does not store that information.
bordelais 2017-02-24 05:28:28
Pici: thanks for the reply
CrazyTux 2017-02-24 05:42:04

Daiwo 2017-02-24 05:42:27

CrazyTux 2017-02-24 05:42:30

I got quieted in ##programming for not sharing someones religious views and definition of what trolling is (I don't think criticism of religious views is trolling). Can I get a list of suggestions on other general programming channel (that aren't a safe space)?
