Keytap: why not use SASL?
Keytap 2017-02-26 09:19:45
I'm just looking for a fallback in case an IRC server doesn't have the SASL cap
ishanyx 2017-02-26 09:20:53
different networks handle that differently, even /msg nickserv identify can vary with different services packages or pseudoclient names
ishanyx 2017-02-26 09:21:44
there's no one way that will always work, you just need to configure it per network
Keytap 2017-02-26 09:23:28
But I can't send the PRIVMSG command until I've received the welcome response
ishanyx 2017-02-26 09:23:28
if you just want a fallback for SASL timing out / failing, account:password as a server password works on freenode
ishanyx 2017-02-26 09:23:28
or certFP

thumbs: unlikely to happen, I read the books, but that's ages ago

I still have them, mind
