how to shutdown multiple systems
dharma 2017-01-31 05:48:03
using terminal
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:50:44
dharma: what OS?
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:51:08
dharma: or what distro rather
rob0 2017-01-31 05:51:12
If that is, as I suppose, a Linux question, it belongs in #yor-distro-here
Sario528 2017-01-31 05:51:26
Hello
rob0 2017-01-31 05:51:26
#your-distro-here
letty 2017-01-31 05:51:33
step 1: log in
letty 2017-01-31 05:51:36
step 2: shut it down
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:51:37
hi Sario528
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:52:21
dharma: you can use a loop in a bash script. you need to already be able to connect to each machine with SSH. Then you can issue the command from your own machine like: ssh user@hostname "sudo shutdown"
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:52:34
dharma: but /join ##linux
rob0 2017-01-31 05:52:56
Also there are such tools as ansible and salt (among others) which can facilitate the handling of multiple systems, but you would be best served to learn basic GNU and Linux before going into those.
dharma 2017-01-31 05:53:21
join #linux
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:53:27
dharma: with the /
rob0 2017-01-31 05:53:34
it's also ##linux
rob0 2017-01-31 05:54:01
and again, you probably need to be in your distro's channel
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:54:09
#ubuntu #fedora etc
parveen_kumar 2017-01-31 05:56:51
hello
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:57:09
parveen_kumar: is your name praveen kumar irl?
rob0 2017-01-31 05:57:16
Another bit of wisdom I can offer: at this stage you're going to do much better reading and playing with things on your own than by asking questions in IRC. IRC is a great way to help you move *beyond* the basics, but not a good way to LEARN the basics.
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:57:20
parveen_kumar: I know a praveen kumar
rob0 2017-01-31 05:57:24
dharma, ^^
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:57:33
parveen_kumar: I'm aware there's probably quite a lot in the world
parveen_kumar 2017-01-31 05:58:20
i need help.
dharma 2017-01-31 05:58:32
yes
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:58:49
parveen_kumar: what's up?
parveen_kumar 2017-01-31 05:59:44
i have installed debian 8 on my vmware. after installation it is showing only cli but no gui.
Teemo 2017-01-31 05:59:56
parveen_kumar: you should /join #debian
parveen_kumar 2017-01-31 06:00:03
