ok. it MAY be my rpi. I think I was logged in on a screen session on there... don't think I properly /quit it yesterday. I plugged an ethernet cable into it this morning before leaving the house and something went wrong, because I can't SSH into it now. so it may just be getting an intermittent connection via wifi and trying to log back in on that session.
