KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 11:53:51
Hello there.
Zppix 2017-03-05 11:53:57
Hi
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 11:53:59
Does anybody remember the command to list ops?
nemecy 2017-03-05 11:54:00
hello
Zppix 2017-03-05 11:54:15
KeyboardKeyboard: /stats p
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 11:54:20
Zppix, Nah, channel ops
Zppix 2017-03-05 11:54:31
KeyboardKeyboard: as in where your op?
Hello71 2017-03-05 11:54:33
/names.
Zppix 2017-03-05 11:55:01
KeyboardKeyboard: /msg nickserv listchans
thumbs 2017-03-05 11:55:07
KeyboardKeyboard: /msg ChanServ access list ##channel
userro 2017-03-05 11:55:28
KeyboardKeyboard, /cs access #channel list ops
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 11:55:28
thumbs, Thank you! Is there anyway I can configure my client to list them automatically?
ragazor 2017-03-05 11:55:57
hi enchi :D
thumbs 2017-03-05 11:55:59
KeyboardKeyboard: why?
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 11:56:45
thumbs, Just because I'd like to. Hexchat only displays active chanops, maybe it could be configured to display inactive ones too. Like an icon next to them or something in the chat log
gry 2017-03-05 11:57:05
You could try to make your client to message chanserv when joining a channel.
Time-Warp 2017-03-05 11:57:29
i have a new joke
gry 2017-03-05 11:57:31
I think that's doable as a script; request one from hexchat folks issue tracker and ask them for guidance in writing it.
Time-Warp 2017-03-05 11:57:35
opps wrong room
Time-Warp 2017-03-05 11:57:44
lol
gry 2017-03-05 11:58:22
s/\r\nlol/, sorry/
deliciou5cake 2017-03-05 11:58:36
hello world
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:00:12
hello user
Hikari 2017-03-05 12:00:53
Does anyone know what the extended expiry time is for users on vacation with NickServ?
deliciou5cake 2017-03-05 12:00:57
whats up doc
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:01:45
is vacation still a thing with expiry?
Hikari 2017-03-05 12:02:06
DocScrutinizer05, yes, [17:56:01] -NickServ- Junka is on vacation and has an extended expiry time
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:02:13
wow
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:04:34
>>[Notice] -NickServ- VACATION extends the expiration time for your account and nicknames (but not your channels) to three times the usual value.
Hikari 2017-03-05 12:04:56
Ah, neat
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:04:57
so ... I guess it's still up to staff to decide
thumbs 2017-03-05 12:06:11
so 30 weeks?
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:06:32
wasn't it 14 weeks normal?
thumbs 2017-03-05 12:08:06
nicknames expire after 10 weeks of inactivity, up to 15.
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:09:40
depending on age of account, right?
gry 2017-03-05 12:10:54
It used to be that, but now staff can drop it after 10 weeks anyway up to their discretion I think
Hikari 2017-03-05 12:10:58
thumbs, so for junka it'd be 45 weeks then, given the vacation?
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:11:33
gry: yep that's what I thought as well, thus >>I guess it's still up to staff to decide<<
thumbs 2017-03-05 12:11:37
I wouldn't multiple 15 by 3, no.
gry 2017-03-05 12:12:01
I think nickserv considers 10 weeks to be the soft-expiration time technically (after 10 weeks enforce stops working too) so if vacation makes it 3 times that, then it is 30 weeks
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:12:10
prolly just a guideline anyway
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:12:49
except for enforce, which is obviously by algo
genec 2017-03-05 12:13:05
KeyboardKeyboard: that should be a near-trivial custom command to merely list them out. affecting the userlist, otoh, sounds a bigger task.
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:14:11
genec, Yeah ideally it would affect the userlist, now I'm just doing a script that triggers on join
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:14:14
which is easier
genec 2017-03-05 12:15:10
KeyboardKeyboard: settings, user commands. something like "SHOWCSOP" perhaps
amnet 2017-03-05 12:16:01
DocScrutinizer05: Get a bouncer.
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:16:14
not aware of any that could do that OOTB
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:16:45
...or with existing plugins
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:17:18
genec, wait
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:17:33
also the UI would be tricky to get tricked into doing that, in the client
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:17:49
genec, How do I make it grab channel name automatically then?
genec 2017-03-05 12:18:09
active chan? 1m. let me check
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:18:14
okay
genec 2017-03-05 12:19:20
KeyboardKeyboard: like "notice ChanServ access list %c" (or msg if you like)
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:19:44
amnet: maybe you could change / augment the realname of users in a bouncer, but what about channels, how to add comments to those?
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:20:21
genec, wait so what's the full command then
genec 2017-03-05 12:20:24
KeyboardKeyboard: http://hexchat.readthedocs.io/en/latest/commands.html#user-commands
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:20:33
thanks
genec 2017-03-05 12:20:34
KeyboardKeyboard: I just gave you the full command
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:20:44
sorry I missed it
genec 2017-03-05 12:20:59
ok.
yorp_ 2017-03-05 12:29:09
How do I get an unaffiliated cloak?
thumbs 2017-03-05 12:29:48
yorp_: you would register with NickServ, or identify to your account first
genec 2017-03-05 12:29:54
yorp_: basically: register with NickServ fully, identify, then request one here.
yorp_ 2017-03-05 12:30:04
thanks!
imyeti 2017-03-05 12:32:15
is it possible to get a vhost
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:33:06
genec, The custom command doesn't work
KeyboardKeyboard 2017-03-05 12:33:38
I'm trying /nycmd and nothing shows up
genec 2017-03-05 12:34:26
imyeti: no vhosts but there are cloaks.
genec 2017-03-05 12:34:52
imyeti: they are intended to show your affiliation, or lack thereof, with a project and are weak at hiding your IP
imyeti 2017-03-05 12:36:07
yeah i would just like to hide my ip basically
genec 2017-03-05 12:38:55
imyeti: better is use TOR/VPN/BNC. see also https://freenode.net/kb/answer/cloaks#cloaks-do-not-effectively-hide-your-ip
u_u 2017-03-05 12:40:43
hey buttkiss
genec 2017-03-05 12:40:56
imyeti: so if you feel the inherent weakness of cloaks fits your goals, feel free to request one from staff since you're fully registered and identified
laowai 2017-03-05 12:41:31
u_u: how are you doin in #chat
imyeti 2017-03-05 12:42:29
genec: how do i officially request one
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:43:02
genec: don't vhosts also exist, technically? When your client's IP has a working rDNS?
genec 2017-03-05 12:43:17
imyeti: just politely ask then wait patiently for staff
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:43:20
imyeti: just ask in here
imyeti 2017-03-05 12:43:34
I wouldn't like to formally ask for a cloak
DocScrutinizer05 2017-03-05 12:43:42
why?
genec 2017-03-05 12:44:02
DocScrutinizer05: PTRs aren't vhosts. vhosts allow you to assign whatever you want, regardless of your ISP's rules on PTRs
genec 2017-03-05 12:44:43
DocScrutinizer05: though all of them go into the host portion of the descriptor of your connection.
genec 2017-03-05 12:45:10
DocScrutinizer05: a PTR is the DNS record from an IP address to a name, aka rDNS
