honestly, I'm connected pretty much permanently, and the one time somebody borrowed my nick they were an asshole about it when I asked them nicely to shift, so I ghosted them until they got the hint not to do that again

mst: regain is supposed to do both: change their nickname to GuestXXXXX and change your nickname to the desired one. however it doesn't work properly due to race conditions and will kill the other connections more often than not
